heuristics, pl. n.,  any approaches to problem solving, learning, or discovery that employ a practical method, not guaranteed to be optimal, perfect, logical, or rational, but instead sufficient for reaching an immediate goal or answer.

inculcate, v., instill in someone an idea or attitude through persistent instruction.

indelible, adj., marked or written upon in a way that can’t be removed; not able to be forgotten.

inscrutable, adj., impossible to understand or decipher; inexplicable; enigmatic.

intractable, adj., hard to control or deal with; stubborn or resistant.
